Just heard that Hudson Music will be distributing the "American Drummers Achievement Awards Honoring Steve Gadd" DVD which was presented September 2003 at Berklee College in Boston !
Can't wait to see and hear this concert. I was lucky enough to be present and what a tribute ! Hosted by Bill Cosby, the all-star band included Vinnie Colaiuta, Rick Marotta, Michael Landau, Jimmy Johnson, Will Lee and more ! The highlight of this tribute was Steve Gadd himself playing with James Taylor and Paul Simon.
I am curious to see if any of you guys were able to attend.
The event also included a tribute to the late Armand Zildjian.

i was there. vinnie held back A LOT. get this dvd for the entire evening, not just for vinnie or else you'll be disappointed.
it was funny watching bill cosby pick on vinnie though. classic.

Isn't it funny how we all look for Vinnie to just about twist our heads off every time we see him [because he can, & that's what is 'expected' of him]? These days he often just plays for the pocket/tune...he's looking to put his & other's ego's in check anymore... [img]wink.gif[/img]
